"Ali and I have been friends for many years, so I gave him a call when I decided to explore the possibility of buying property in Washington D.C. After spending countless hours doing market research and reading about the different financing options, I had concluded that I was just not going to be able to buy the type of home that I really wanted in this lifetime. Ali quickly showed me I was wrong. He started by meeting with me in person and talking me through the market situation. When I asked him about my financing options, he politely explained that I would need to go through the specifics with a banker (which he provided several referrals), but then gave me a thorough overview of all my options, including every single assistance program available, that was not a bit short of what every banker I spoke to told me. Because this was likely one of the largest purchases in my life, I grilled him with questions. He patiently replied to all of them (during our initial conversation and throughout the closing process). In that meeting, he encouraged me to seriously consider going ahead and giving notice to terminate my current lease. Ali doubled down on finding me the home I wanted, even if it required reaching out to people to ask if they wanted to sell their home. I gave him the two months that he asked for. We toured several properties but none of them really interested me. Just when I was about to give up on the search, I got an alert for a property that was going to hit the market the following day that I was interested in. Note this was just two weeks after our first meet up (I am not an easy client :-)). Ali setup an appointment for that morning. After seeing the property, we immediately met to talk strategy as people were coming in on our way out and we suspected the sellers would receive multiple offers (in fact, we later learned that by noon that day the seller already had an offer).
